Son of Ra calls his music Physical Music, the onion concept of music – understanding music by understanding the interrelation of the different layers within the musical structure of the music from the core to the periphery. Most Afro Cuban music is based on the onion concept of music.

Physical music is music destined for the mind via the physical pathways of the body. Polyphonic syncopated rhythms and organized multi-layered sound system where music are sounds, where sounds are vibrations; where vibrations are waves, and where waves are crystallized energetic information for creating joy within the vast possibility of what is.
